ECU Tuning & Dyno Calibration

Calibration is the cheapest horsepower you will ever buy, and the difference between a car that makes a number on a dyno sheet and one you actually enjoy driving.

More than a dyno pull

A wide-open-throttle pull is the last ten percent of the job. We calibrate cold start, warm idle, cruise, part throttle, transmission shift points and torque management as well — the parts of the tune you live with every single day.

Nick Kemp, our head calibrator, has been doing this at AGP since 2000. Cars are tuned on the dyno and validated on the road, because the road is where you drive it.

Platforms and software

We calibrate GM, Chrysler and Ford vehicles — LS and LT, Coyote and EcoBoost, HEMI and Gen III platforms, factory and swapped. We work in HP Tuners, EFILive, DiabloSport and SCT, and we log every change.

Naturally aspirated, nitrous, supercharged and turbocharged combinations are all normal work here. So are E85 and flex fuel setups, and pump gas cars that need to stay safe on Ultra 94.

Safe, repeatable, documented

We look at knock, air/fuel ratio, intake air temperature and fuel trims before we chase a number. If a combination is not safe at the power level you asked for, we say so and tell you what it would take to get there properly.

You get a before-and-after picture of what changed and why, and you can come back for revisions when you add parts.

Common questions

Do you tune cars you did not build?
Yes. A lot of our tuning work is on cars built elsewhere. Send us the parts list and we will tell you what to expect.
Can you fix a bad tune from another shop?
We do it often. We start from the logs, find what is actually wrong and recalibrate from there rather than patching over it.
Will the tune pass emissions or keep my car driveable in winter?
Drivability is part of the tune, not an afterthought. Cold start and part throttle get the same attention as full throttle so the car behaves in February.
